Fourth of July

Happy belated July 4th to everyone. I hope ya'll enjoyed a special weekend with family and friends as we all celebrated our nations independence.
We had a special weekend with the Martins (Emilys sister Sarahs family), Emily parents and her youngest sister Abi, Hintermeisters(Emilys other sister Laura who now lives across the lake from us) and Lukes (Lauras husband) parents who live in a nice apartment on their property on the lake. It was a beautiful weekend with lots of sunshine, tubing, fishing and grillin'.
Highlights of the weekend included: a dissappointing early morning fishing expedition on the boat(however we did enjoy a beautiful sunrise), Shane and Todd doing some "crazy" tubing in the early am at fast speeds, Laura and Luke docking their pontoon on our rocky beach, and the gals (Emily, Laura, Sarah, Dawn, Abi and Ashley) swimming out to 'Lange Island" and back twice where Todd and Luke only accomplished it once!! They had so much fun swimming out there and what a great time they had.
Another fun event was the fireworks we were able to watch from our shore. A guy on the lake provided the excitement for everyone. They were impressive fireworks and lasted about 15-20 minutes. We of course lit off some of our own fireworks and that was exciting as well.
We were very blessed to have them all up here. We had great conversation, fellowship, and loads of fun. All the kids loved playing with each other (all 10 of them) and they were so well behaved!!!
All in all it was a great weekend and we look forward to having many more special 4th of July celebrations in years to come.
