More fun times on the Lake

Well, this week it was below zero again with wind chill reaching a "chilling" 50 below. We can't believe it. Although, since I've been growing out my beard it hasn't been all that cold. Emily calls me the "mountain man" and to be honest, how fitting is that. About a month ago we saw a deer mangled on the side of the road not to far from us. We asked around and did some of our own research and we concluded it was probably a bobcat or cougar. A bobcat or cougar.....you gotta be kidding me!!! We asked our neighbor about it who has lived on Island lake his whole life and he stated it isn't that uncommon to see bobcats, cougars, or wolves out here. Lo and behold Emily saw a wolf walking on the lake toward our house just the other day. Need I say it.....we need a gun and dog to protect our selves!!! We've learned a lot out here, absolutely love it, and look forward to many scary adventures to come!!!! And believe me.....I will be writing all about the adventures.

Brrrrrrrr/ Happy V Day!

We have never experienced such cold weather as we have over the last few weeks. The other day I was driving to work and my truck read -27 degrees.....I couldn't believe it. Later that day I was informed the temp's reached 50 below zero factoring in the wind chill. Wow!! I remember one time in college when I cleaned Walgreen floors (yeah, I know what a weird job, huh?!) with my two roommates (I won't mention their names in case their embarassed of their Walgreens experience) it reached 60 below and they cancelled school. Also that night the van we were driving died on us.....and then we almost died of hypothermia. But other than that, I personally haven't experienced such cold weather. With that being said, when is summer ever gonna arrive?!
I started my new job a few weeks ago and so far its everything I expected, and then some. I have entered the work force again so look out people!
And now here is some important Valentines information everyone should know. In case you're interested......
According to the Greeting Card Association, an estimated one billion valentine cards are sent each year, making Valentine's Day the second largest card-sending holiday of the year. (An estimated 2.6 billion cards are sent for Christmas.)
Approximately 85 percent of all valentines are purchased by women. Valentine greetings were popular as far back as the Middle Ages (written Valentine's didn't begin to appear until after 1400), and the oldest known Valentine card is on display at the British Museum. The first commercial Valentine's Day greeting cards produced in the U.S. were created in the 1840s by Esther A. Howland. Howland, known as the Mother of the Valentine, made elaborate creations with real lace, ribbons and colorful pictures known as "scrap".
I'm sure you all wanted to know that important information about V-Day.
I hope everyone is healthy, happy, and staying warm. Happy Valentines Day! God Bless-
